About the Campus Ministers

Don and Marjean Ehlers have been Co-Directors at the Wesley Foundation
at Northwest for over 29 years. Before moving to Maryville in 1980, they
spent 5 1/2 years in Campus Ministry at the University of Northern Iowa.
Along with their Campus Ministry work, Don and Marjean are Licensed Professional
Counselors
They provide counseling services to:
- University faculty
- Staff, and students
- Clients from the surrounding communities.

Along with being a Campus Minister, Don Ehlers is:
- An Ordained Deacon in the United Methodist Church
- A Licensed Professional Counselor
- A Professional musician
- National Consultant for Ministry Internship Programs through GBHEM
Education:
- Bachelor of science degree in psychology from Iowa State University
- Master's degree in counseling from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls
- A Doctor of Education from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Don completed his ministerial course work at St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1996, Don served at the General Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was involved in the legislative changes pertaining to the order of the ministry within the United Methodist Church. Don is also a current member of the Ministry Preparation Resource Team of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry and a member of the Missouri Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. In 2003, Don was elected by the Missouri Conference to serve on the General/Jurisdictional Conference Delegation.

Marjean Potter Ehlers is an Ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church.
Education:
- Bachelor of science degree, concentration of psychology & sociology from Northwest Missouri State University.
- Master's degree in counseling from the University of Northern Iowa
- Doctor of Education from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Currently, she also touches the community with her ministry as Visitation Minister for First United Methodist Church in Maryville. Marjean, also, finished her seminary work at St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri. Some of her special interests include, worship leadership, women and children's issues, and family relationship guidance. Marjean is currently serving on the Pony Express District Ordained Ministry Team.

Don and Marjean keep very active with their children:
Justis, married to Gina is a Vitreoretina surgical Fellow at Duke Eye Center
in Durham, NC; Jesmin, a second-year Emergency Medicine Resident at Duke
Medical Center, Durham, NC; Jacob, just beginning his education at the Arizona
School of Health Science in Mesa, AZ, pursuing his Physician Assistant goal;
and Julia, a Junior at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
